At Lofi Room, we believe in transparency and respecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
Note: This policy applies to both the mobile and desktop versions of Lofi Room.
Our Privacy Commitment
TL;DR: We collect minimal data necessary to run the service. We don't know who you are, we don't track your personal information, and we never sell your data to anyone.
Information We Collect
Device Identifier
We generate a random unique identifier (UUID) on your device. This is not linked to your identity in any way - it's simply a random string of characters that helps us count unique listeners and understand usage patterns.
- Generated locally on your device
- Cannot be used to identify you personally
- Not linked to any account or personal information
Usage Statistics
We collect anonymous usage data to improve the service:
- Track play counts - How many times tracks are played (not what you specifically listen to)
- Daily/hourly request patterns - Helps us understand peak usage times
- Error logs - When something goes wrong, we log the error type (not your data)
IP Address
Your IP address may be temporarily logged for:
- Rate limiting (preventing abuse)
- Basic geographic statistics (country-level only)
We do not store IP addresses long-term or use them to track individual users.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be crystal clear about what we never collect:
- Your name, email, or any contact information
- Your precise location or GPS data
- Your contacts, photos, or files
- Your browsing history or app usage outside Lofi Room
- Any biometric data
- Payment information (we don't process payments directly)
Third-Party Services
Google AdMob (Mobile App)
The mobile app displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Google may collect certain data according to their own privacy policy, including:
- Device identifiers for ad personalization
- General location (based on IP)
- App usage data for ad targeting

OtakuGifs API
We use OtakuGifs to display anime GIFs. See OtakuGifs Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for details.
How We Use Your Data
The limited data we collect is used solely to:
- Operate the service - Stream music, display content
- Improve the app - Understand usage patterns, fix bugs
- Prevent abuse - Rate limiting, blocking malicious requests
- Generate statistics - Anonymous, aggregated data only
Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on secure servers
- We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
- Access to data is restricted to the developer only
- We do not share your data with third parties (except as required by law)
Data Retention
We retain anonymized usage statistics for service improvement. Since we don't collect personal data, there's no personal information to delete. The random device identifier on your device can be reset by:
- Reinstalling the app
- Clearing app data
Children's Privacy
Lofi Room is a general audience app. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information from any users, this naturally extends to children as well.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your data:
- Access - Request what data we have (which is essentially none that identifies you)
- Deletion - Request deletion of any data associated with your device ID
- Opt-out - Disable personalized ads through your device settings

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
